Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Motor Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will help design, develop, and test electric motors for a wide range of industrial applications. This entry-level role is perfect for freshly graduated engineers with a strong background in motor theory, motor control systems, and mechanical integration. You will collaborate with experienced engineers across different disciplines to ensure the design and performance of electric motors meet high standards of efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Primary Responsibilities
- Motor Design & Development: Assist in designing electric motors (AC, DC, brushless, etc.) from concept to production, ensuring they meet performance, efficiency, and sustainability goals.
- Prototyping & Testing: Contribute to the development of motor prototypes, conduct tests to validate their performance, and assist in troubleshooting design issues.
- Optimization: Support efforts to improve motor designs for enhanced performance, energy efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness, focusing on sustainable design principles.
- System Integration: Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and control engineers to help integrate motors into larger systems and products.
- Technical Drawings & Documentation: Create and interpret technical drawings, motor schematics, and specifications. Maintain accurate engineering documentation for all projects.
- Collaboration: Work with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams to ensure that motor designs meet customer needs and align with industry trends.
- Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Assist in preparing cost estimates for materials, labor, and testing, helping to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in testing and validation efforts to ensure all motor designs meet stringent quality, safety, and performance standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in design engineering or a related field.
- Basic electric motor design and development knowledge, including motor control systems and electromagnetic principles.
- Proficiency in motor design software (e.g., ANSYS, Motor-CAD, MATLAB/Simulink, AutoCAD) or similar tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and motor schematics.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Basic understanding of industry standards and regulations for motor design and safety.
- Passion for sustainable engineering practices and energy-efficient solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with thermal analysis, motor winding design, and material selection.
- Some prior experience or internship in motor design or related fields is a plus.
