Job Summary

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Motor Specialty, Inc., you will be responsible for the design, development, and enhancement of our products and production lines. You will work closely with other engineers, suppliers, customers, and the research and development team to ensure our products meet quality standards, are produced efficiently, and align with sustainable practices. The role also involves supporting the electrical work for manufacturing and ensuring that all operations are carried out safely and cost-effectively.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Designing and Testing: Design new equipment, systems, and processes, and rigorously test them for performance, efficiency, and safety.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify faults, investigate production issues, and carry out repairs on equipment and systems.
  • Improving Operations: Research and implement ways to enhance production efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
  • Planning and Organizing: Plan and organize maintenance activities, including plant start-up and shut-down schedules, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Managing Budgets: Maintain accurate statistical and financial records and collaborate with finance professionals to manage budgets and ensure cost-effective production.
  • Liaising: Work closely with suppliers, customers, and research and development staff to align product designs with client requirements and industry trends.
  • Staying Up to Date: Keep up with the latest developments in the manufacturing industry to ensure that our processes and products remain competitive and sustainable.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on improving production processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and bills of material (BOM).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with suppliers, customers, and team members.
  • Proven experience in managing budgets, keeping records, and working with financial data.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and engineering tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while contributing effectively to a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality assurance in all aspects of production.
